From a Tent to Italy
€12,000 stands between me and a chance to continue my studies — and to live.

Amir's Story
My name is Amir, and I am a Palestinian student from Gaza. For the past years, I have not only been fighting to protect my future. I have been fighting to stay alive.
My family's home was destroyed at the beginning of the war, and we lost almost everything we owned. I have been displaced more than eight times, sometimes forced to flee on foot under bombardment and constant fear. I have lived in a tent and in places without even the most basic conditions for a dignified life.
I have lived through severe starvation. There were periods when finding even one meal was not guaranteed, and days when we survived on almost nothing. At the same time, I had to walk long distances searching for water or an internet connection just so I could continue studying. I studied while starving. I studied through displacement. I studied while the sound of bombs and explosions became part of our daily lives.
